December Book Drive collects books for Local Agencies, Schools

This holiday season the Faculty Fellows from the CSUB Center for Community Engagement & Career Education organized a Children’s Book Drive for local Bakersfield agencies and schools.

The rainy weather did not stop our faculty from bringing books to organizations all over Kern County.

Professor Chris Cruz-Boone from the Department of Communications collaborated with the Rosedale Target Store and students in her public speaking class to collect over 150 books for the Richardson Center Children’s Library.

The Richardson center provides low-cost preschool for working parents and resources and educational programs for special needs children in the east Bakersfield community. Their library is open to all local families but notably provides resources to autistic, mobility limited or other special needs children in Bakersfield.
