About

Welcome to the blog for CSU Bakersfield’s Public Affairs and Communications Office. Here we hope to interest you with news of what’s happening on campus, entertain you with trivia and tidbits about CSUB, and engage you in discussing what makes Your University special.

During 2010, we are recognizing CSUB’s 40th anniversary – which offers us a chance to celebrate, reflect and look forward to 40 more years of service to our community.

If you have story tips, photos to share, suggestions for the blog, or just want to give us a shout out, please contact us. We welcome any and all feedback.

Our facilities staff works hard to manage our 375-acre campus and all its facilities, and we take pride in our beautiful campus and its maintaining its cleanliness. So much so that many areas on campus have been “adopted” by different departments and student groups and have designated the fourth Monday of every month as a campus cleanup walk where you can find people from all parts of the university, including President Mitchell, walking through campus collecting litter that others have strewn about. in addition, we have a Campus Beautification Committee that meets regularly to discuss ways to keep our campus beautiful.

Litter, and it’s containment, is not an easy task though. Working together we can make this a cleaner campus. We welcome your suggestions, and if you’d like to know more about efforts to make the campus better feel free to email us at excellence@csub.edu or email me directly at cdillaway@csub.edu.

    Regards,
    Colleen Dillaway
