Please join me in congratulating Michelle Kinder, who was honored at the 4th annual “Night to Honor Our Nurses” on April 28. This event, organized by the Association of California Nurse Leaders, recognizes the dedicated men and women of the nursing profession.
Michelle Kinder was named RN of the year in the area of Education, a category with 5 other excellent candidates. Our faculty unanimously voted to nominate Michelle due to her extensive contributions to our department, the university, the community, and the profession of nursing in the area of nursing education. Her nomination, which was featured in the program:
“Ms. Michelle Kinder has been a faculty member at CSUB since September 2005. Michelle has taught a variety of nursing courses at CSUB, from fundamentals of nursing, medical-surgical nursing, to advanced nursing leadership. Michelle is one of only three faculty to present at an international nursing conference. Michelle is the current President of the Xi Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Michelle is dedicated to her students and the nursing profession. Michelle is an excellent teacher, clinician, and upholds the standards of nursing practice.”
Michelle is a tremendous asset to our students and our program, and we are extremely proud to see her formally recognized for her excellence by such an outstanding organization.
